‘Tis The Season!
I remember the day I arrived in Cape Coral like it was yesterday. A Midwest girl in search of sunshine and palm trees. Ready to trade the snow and cold for sand and saltwater. I have raised my children here, worked and played here. Twenty years later, there is no place I would rather be!
It took me a few years to appreciate a Florida Christmas. I was used to hot chocolate, roaring fires and bundling up for Christmas Eve services. I couldn’t have imagined spending Christmas at the beach building sand castles.
It didn’t take me long to adjust to a warm and green holiday season. The palm trees lined with twinkling lights, the fun and festive coastal holiday décor and being able to wear a cute holiday dress without freezing, what could be better?
The essence of this holiday is gratitude, and there is nothing that makes me feel more grateful than being surrounded by friends and family. It’s an opportunity to slow down and spend time with the people that I care about… And what brings people together more than a delicious meal?
In this issue we want to celebrate the Christmas season and say, “Thank You” to the businesses that allow us to Eat, Drink and Be Merry.
Black Salt Culinary, representing a new age in catering. Where the clients are encouraged to watch the chefs prepare the meal.
La Corte Garden Bistro, Cape Coral’s newest fine dining restaurant.
And, Wicked Dolphin Rum Distillery, which uses only local, natural ingredients. These rum recipes will spice up any holiday party!
Christmas is also about giving back to the community.
We say thank you to Guardian Angels, who offer special populations opportunities to shine, and Holiday for Heroes, giving to those who are sacrificing the most for us.
Cape Coral Lifestyle Magazine is all about what makes this city great. There is no better time to call Cape Coral home than during the holidays. It is my favorite time of the year.
