The Southwest Florida Symphony achieves GuideStar Platinum Status

The Southwest Florida Symphony, Lee County’s only professional orchestra and the one of oldest on Florida’s gulf coast, has earned the Platinum GuideStar Nonprofit Profile Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information. By very publicly sharing detailed information and metrics, The Southwest Florida Symphony is enhancing ways donors evaluate its data, moving beyond simplistic ways of nonprofit evaluation like overhead ratios. “We believe very strongly in total transparency about our work,” said Amy Ginsburg, the symphony’s executive director, “we feel it’s important to convey our organization’s results in a user-friendly and highly visual manner. By updating our GuideStar Nonprofit Profile to the Platinum level, we can now easily share a wealth of up to date organizational metrics with our supporters as well as GuideStar’s immense online audience, which includes donors, grant makers, our peers, and the media.”

To reach the Platinum level, The Southwest Florida Symphony added extensive information to its Nonprofit Profile on GuideStar which includes basic contact and organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward its mission. By taking the time to provide this information, The Southwest Florida Symphony has demonstrated its commitment to transparency and to giving donors and funders meaningful data to evaluate the orchestra and its family of affiliates. “We encourage everyone interested in learning more about this essential cultural institution and the breadth of ways it serves our community by visiting GuideStar’s website,” added Ginsburg.

Lee Health is inspiring a HEALTHY Lifestyle starting at the top!

You may wonder what is your top?  Simply put…your brain!  I have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years and through this time I have helped many clients improve their health & wellbeing from the neck down.  Now we are training our brains just like any other muscle in our body, from the top to the toes!  Lee Health Brain Fit and Brain Boosters are two new programs that challenge our minds to go through thinking processes that we no longer take the time to do.  We want instant results and we can easily obtain those results anywhere anytime with our electronics.  Typically, when we are using our electronics we are sitting.   Studies have shown that physical activity is one of the best ways to maintain & improve cognitive function.  Combining the two creates neuroplasticity – fusing the mental with the physical.  It’s amazing how energized you feel after one of the sessions.  Come give this full mind & body workout a try.
